From Inside the Flap
Voyager is the story of Jesse, a beautiful woman who offers herself for submissive sex to the highest bidder. Such arrangements are now legal. More important, they are grudgingly accepted by society, although the women themselves are still branded as whores. Whores or not, competition among young women for the most lucrative contracts is intense, fueled by armies of lawyers, brokers, agents, scouts, trainers, and accountants, all looking for their piece of the action. But there’s more to it than money--much more. Submission has become as important as romantic love in the 21st Century and is a primary motivator for new CELTs (Contract Escort Long Term). Jesse recognized her own deeply submissive nature long ago, and although she resists, she accepts the idea that as a CELT she can get her life into alignment with her feelings.
The story begins in the hold of a plane. Jesse, naked and caged, is being shipped along with another incredibly beautiful CELT, Victoria, to an unknown destination. Both of them are frightened by their sadistic guard who, bored with the long journey, entertains himself by tormenting his helpless charges.
Finally, they arrive at a Russian resort called Turkslaw, where they are subjected to an intense screening. Jesse begins to realize that taking this new contract without proper research may not have been one of her best decisions. Not that she had a lot of choice. She loved Howard, the holder of her last contract, with all her heart, but it was a fiery relationship. Their final argument was bitter. Because it overlapped the end of her contract, it was never resolved. This poor timing and a profound depression resulted in Jesse’s accepting this mysterious but lucrative overseas assignment without the due diligence such a decision demanded.
Her memories of Howard are interrupted by a meeting with Mr. Nemov, the sadistic manager of the resort. Jesse has met many Nemovs as a CELT--small men: cheaters who push the CELT laws to the limits for their own purposes. Insanely ambitious, Nemov abuses his CELTS to make the resort more interesting to his guests. Jesse, a stickler for following the rules, especially those regarding consent, becomes increasingly angrier with the discovery of each new violation.
Finally, during the hunt, one of Turkslaw’s most extreme events, she snaps and turns to violence, justifying her behavior as an appropriate response to Turkslaw’s abuses. Of course, she’s the only one who sees it that way. Nemov’s retaliation is extreme, both towards Jesse and towards her new friends. Jesse fights her way through this trial, finding new strength and an even deeper acceptance of her submissive nature in the process, as the tale proceeds to its startling ending.
