Augustine Sam Augustine Sam is also a journalist and poet. A member of the U.K. Chartered Institute of Journalists and the International Society of Poets, he was the 1998 winner of the Editor’s Choice Award in the North America Open Poetry Contest. And his award-winning poem: Anguish & Passion was published in the ?Sounds of Silence? anthology of the National Library of Poetry, USA. He was a former editor and then central Europe correspondent for an influential Third World daily, ThisDay, published with the Financial Times of London.
